Step 1: Visit the Wise.com website

Navigate to the Wise.com website using your preferred web browser.

Step 2: Sign up for a free account

Click the “Sign Up” or “Register” button, usually located at the top-right corner of the homepage.

You’ll be given the option to sign up using your email address, Google account, Facebook account, or Apple account. Choose your preferred method and provide the necessary information.

Step 3: Verify your email address (if applicable)

If you signed up with an email address, you’ll receive a verification email from Wise. Open the email and click on the verification link to confirm your account.

Step 4: Complete your profile information

After verifying your email or signing up with Google/Facebook/Apple, you’ll be prompted to fill in your personal information, such as your full name, date of birth, phone number, and home address. Be sure to provide accurate information, as this will be used for identity verification later.

Step 5: Identity verification

Depending on your country of residence and the amount you plan to transfer, Wise may require additional identity verification. This may include uploading a copy of your passport, driver’s license, or national ID card. Follow the instructions provided by Wise to submit the required documents.

The verification process may take a few minutes to several hours, depending on the documents provided and the volume of requests Wise is handling.

Step 6: Set up two-factor authentication (optional but recommended)

For added security, Wise offers two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account from unauthorized access. To enable 2FA, go to your account settings and follow the instructions to set up authentication using an authenticator app or SMS verification.

Step 7: Create a multi-currency account (optional)

If you plan to hold and manage multiple currencies, you can create a multi-currency account by navigating to the “Balances” tab and selecting “Open a balance” for each currency you wish to hold. This enables you to receive, hold, and convert money in over 50 currencies within your Wise account.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully set up your Wise account. You’re now ready to send and receive money internationally with ease.
